Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming a member of The Woman's Club of Raleigh.  This document should be helpful in understanding membership.

Benefits of Membership – For the past 113 years, The Woman’s Club of Raleigh (WCR) has had an impact in our community on women and health, environmental and civic issues, children's education and welfare, and cultural and international understanding.  As an organization we focus on six key areas: Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach and Public Issues. The women that join this club build common bonds that make it really fun to work together to get things done and with approximately 250 members, we can accomplish a lot!

Membership Requirements – In order to become a member of The Woman’s Club of Raleigh, you must complete each of the following requirements:

  •  Attend two activities of the Woman's Club, either General Meeting luncheons on the second Wednesday of each month or any of the other Club organized activities.
  • Be sponsored by an Active Member or you can be sponsored by the Membership Recruitment Chair.
  • Obtain an Application for Membership from the Membership Recruitment Chair and submit it completed with your dues.  There is a one-time application fee of $30, plus the dues for your first year of membership ($10 per month, starting the month following your election to membership and continuing through May) to be summitted with your application.  Once the application is submitted, it will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval at their next meeting.  At the following General Meeting, you will be introduced as a member of The Woman's Club of Raleigh.  Congratulations!

New Member Orientation Sessions – The New Member Orientation Series will begin on the second Wednesday in October 2017, and will be held monthly through March  2018, (except in December) prior to each month’s General Meeting. The sessions start at 10:45am and will last approximately 30 minutes. Plan to attend these worthwhile sessions where you will learn how the organization is structured and how it operates. Each orientation meeting will provide you with new and different information, and you will meet other members of the Club. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend these sessions.

Special Note about Luncheon Reservations – For the first year of membership, new members make their luncheon reservations through the Membership Recruitment Chair. The deadline for reservations and cancellations for all luncheons is the Thursday prior to the meetings held on the following Wednesday. If you have a reservation and cancel after the deadline or do not attend the meeting, you are still responsible for the cost of the luncheon ($21) plus a $3 service charge as we have to pay the caterer for the number reserved.
