Community Service

Community Service with Night Owls

Our members are true volunteers in action who work in our community to support the arts, preserve natural resources, advance education, promote healthy lifestyles, encourage civic involvement, and foster world peace and understanding.

Our Club’s work centers around six main Community Service Programs (CSPs), including Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, Public Issues and International Outreach, and Fund Development. The Night Owls (Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh and Woman’s Club of Raleigh members) work through these programs to help meet needs within our community and to provide projects that fit the interests of its members.

Our Annual Service Projects

  • State Capitol Tree Lighting
  • Local Arts Festival

State Capitol Tree Lighting

Our club partners with the staff from the North Carolina State Capitol in organizing and implementing the annual NC State Capitol Tree Lighting event. Members are responsible for providing refreshments to attendees of the event.

Local Arts Festival

We invite middle and high school students to participate in the Visual Arts, Crafts, and Photography competitions as part of our local Student Arts Festival, co-sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Raleigh and the Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh.

Our festival and art showcase are held at the Woman’s Club in Raleigh. This will be a time when members of the public, including students, teachers, parents, and club members can view art entries from the show. We look forward to seeing our local students’ talents!

Entries for the 2024 Student Arts Festival are now closed.
