Membership Information
Join us! Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming a member of The Woman’s Club of Raleigh. This document should be helpful in understanding membership.
Benefits of Membership – Since 1904, The Woman’s Club of Raleigh (WCR) has worked to improve Raleigh through engagement in five key areas: Arts & Culture, Environment, Education & Libraries, Civic Engagement & Outreach, and Health & Wellness. Club women forge lasting friendships and community by working together to get things done. With over 200 members, we can accomplish a lot!
Membership Requirements – In order to become a member of The Woman’s Club of Raleigh, you only need to meet two requirements:
- Participate in two activities of the Woman’s Club such as attending a General Meeting luncheon on the second Wednesday of the month and any other Club organized activity. Each month, the Membership Committee hosts a small group gathering where prospective members can meet, ask questions, and chat with clubwomen, so they can get to know us before joining.
- Obtain an Application for Membership from the Membership Recruitment Chair. Submit the completed application with your dues. There is a one-time application fee of $50, plus the dues of $155 for your first year of membership. Once the application is submitted, it will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval. At the following General Meeting, you will be introduced as a member of The Woman’s Club of Raleigh. Congratulations!
New Member Orientation Sessions – An orientation session for new members is held prior to the General Meeting from October through March (except December). These sessions start at 10:30 a.m. and last approximately 45 minutes. Attending these worthwhile sessions helps you meet other members and learn how the WCR is organized and operates. Each orientation meeting provides you with new and different information. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend these sessions.
Special Note about Luncheon Reservations – Members make their luncheon reservations using Sign Up Genius. An email is sent two weeks prior to the general meeting with instructions on how to sign up. The deadline for reservations and cancellations for all luncheons is the Wednesday prior to the meeting held on the following Wednesday.
