Arts Festival Information

Student Visual Arts Festival

Students from Raleigh middle and high schools are encouraged to participate and compete. The Arts Festival competition is also open to Home Schooled students. The categories of competition include Crafts, Visual Arts, Photography and Literature. The contest requires registration through Art teachers at each school.

The Woman’s Club of Raleigh Art Festival amateur winners advance to the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of North Carolina Arts Festival.  Winners at the Club level advance to the District VI Art Festival held in February 2024 and District winners advance to the State competition held in March 2024.

Student Music Arts Festival

The Music Competition is scheduled for Saturday morning, November 9, 2024 at The Woman’s Club of Raleigh, 3300 Woman’s Club Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612. Open to High School students from Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore, Orange, and Wake counties.

Contestants may enter into one of the following categories: Boy Vocal, Girl Vocal, Piano, Strings, and other instruments (brass, woodwinds, percussion, etc.)

Students intending to enter are requested to email (pcwitt43@gmail.com) or TEXT (919-264-1015) about their intention as soon as possible and not later than 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2024. A completed application MUST be received no later than Monday, November 4, 2024.

The competition is juried. Cash prizes and certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category will be awarded. On November 16, 2024, the 1st and 2nd place awardees in each category will compete for two top awards for the District VI Arts Festival and will perform there in February. The public is welcome to attend. Please invite your family, friends and neighbors. Parking is plentiful and free.
